Actor Keanu Reeves recently shared an incident from the set of his upcoming film, *Good Fortune*, where he sustained a significant knee injury. The film, a dramedy written and directed by Aziz Ansari, features Reeves alongside Seth Rogen. Reeves recounted the story on *The Late Show With Stephen Colbert*, highlighting the unexpected mishap during filming.
Reeves detailed that the injury occurred while filming a scene with Ansari and Rogen in a cold plunge. He described how after finishing the scene, he was doing a “cold shuffle” to warm up when his foot got caught in a carpet pocket, leading to a fall. In the process, his knee did not move as expected, causing his kneecap to crack, which he likened to a potato chip.
Initially, Reeves didn’t realize the severity of the injury. It wasn’t until his knee began to swell that he recognized something was seriously wrong. Despite the painful setback, Reeves managed to find humor in the situation, quipping about the challenges of comedy.
Director Aziz Ansari lauded Reeves’s dedication and perseverance, noting that the injury occurred 15 days into the shooting schedule. Ansari shared at CinemaCon that Reeves continued filming most scenes, except those requiring salsa dancing, which they postponed until his knee healed.
*Good Fortune* is set to be released by Lionsgate, although an official release date has yet to be announced. The film’s behind-the-scenes story of Reeves’s injury adds an interesting layer to the anticipation surrounding the project.
