MHRA stands for The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. According to MHRA, two cases of anaphylaxis and one case of a possible allergic reaction occurred with the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Anaphylaxis describes the overreaction of the immune system of the body. According to the National Health Service, anaphylaxis reactions can become very serious and life-threatening, leading to death.

MHRA ensures that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is safe and meets all standards of quality and effectiveness, as set by the MHRA.
Thus, the majority of the people who get the vaccine will have no adverse reactions and will not develop anaphylaxis-reactions. Furthermore, in most people who are getting the vaccine, the benefits outweigh the risk and produce desirable results without compromising safety.
The Investigation Of The Pfizer/BioNTech Coronavirus vaccine
Although MHRA has approved vaccine use, the agency is investigating cases of anaphylaxis occurrence. The companies also support investigations of MHRA as they are eager to know the root cause of the occurrence of anaphylaxis reactions.
U.S. officials also declare that Americans with a known history of allergic reactions will likely not be a candidate for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. At-least until the investigation is in process.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) are continuously assessing the data. The health ministry is also looking at reported adverse reactions.
Also, adverse reactions were likely to occur, but that will not change the risk-to-benefit ratio of the shot. According to what the MHRA chief told lawmakers, allergic reactions are not a feature of Pfizer’s clinical trials.
What Causes The Allergic Reaction?

Pfizer vaccine for coronavirus contains polyethylene glycol (PEG), which stabilizes the shot, and is not present in other types of vaccines. PEG is responsible for the allergic reaction that occurs in people when they consume Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. Also, according to Paul Turner, it is not true that every person with an allergy history will develop an anaphylactic reaction due to the administration of the Pfizer vaccine.
According to Gregory Poland, the MHRA and NHS had initially overreacted. Although allergic reactions do occur due to the administration of vaccines, it is normal. Moreover, every drug is capable of causing allergic or adverse reactions. If one out of thousands of people develop the anaphylactic-reaction, it does not mean that the vaccine is harmful as nine-hundred-and-ninety-nine are showing desired results.
