COVID-19 has affected the lives of every individual in one way or another. The virus’s impact on mental and physical health is devastating due to many reasons. Furthermore, to control these effects, scientists and researchers have been looking for a cure. Successfully, four research institutions with the help of different pharmaceutical companies were able to produce a coronavirus vaccine.

Coronavirus vaccines, antibody therapy, and plasma therapy are sources of treatment for coronavirus infection. A vaccine is the best solution to control the transmission rate, infection rate, and death rate associated with coronavirus.

However, the efficacy of a vaccine determines whether it is safe for use or not. The vaccine, with greater-efficacy and minimal side effects, is likely to be distributed across the globe. Many other factors determine which vaccine shall receive approval from the FDA.

What Is Essential To Fight COVID-19?

As the COVID-19 vaccine is under the process of development, people need to follow precautionary measures like wearing masks, washing hands, using sanitizers frequently, and other standard operating procedures to control the transmission and infection rate of coronavirus.

Even after the discovery of the vaccine, people may need to continue following the precautionary measures as scientists do not know yet how long immunity with vaccination will last.

Thus, practicing precautionary measures is a must and possibly be a compulsory part of life. Vaccines and other treatments will enable you to limit the occurrence of deaths due to coronavirus infection. In addition, the company and FDA must consider efficacy profiles, safety-profile, storage conditions, and other characteristics of vaccines before and after their launch into the market.

Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

Moderna is an American biotechnology company with headquarters in Cambridge, MA. The company has other partners that include Lonza, AstraZeneca, Merck, Vertex, Darpa, Barda, Karolinska Institute, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, Pfizer claimed that its COVID-19 vaccine is 90% effective. Later, on Monday, Moderna releases its Clinical Phase 3 results that indicate 94.5% efficacy.

Ninety-five individuals participate in the trials, and some receive either a placebo or the vaccine. However, only five infections occur in those who receive the vaccine, and there was no case of serious-infection or side effect development.

According to the chief executive of Moderna, Stephane Bancel, no case of hospitalization or admittance to ICU leading to death occurred in the participants who received a vaccine. Also, the Moderna vaccine for coronavirus does not require ultra-cold storage like the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine, so the distribution of the Moderna vaccine will be easy. The ir COVID-19 vaccine is storable for 30 days at a temperature of 36 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The vaccine can also remain stable for up to six months at a temperature of -4 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remarks On The Vaccine of Moderna.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. On Monday, on a call with Moderna, he said that the results of the trial were striking. In addition to this, he said that Moderna’s mRNA-1273 vaccine for COVID-19 is productive in a variety of participants of different ages, genders, and communities.

Professor Trudie Lang is the director of the Global Health Network at Oxford University. According to Lang, the news of the Moderna-mRNA-1273 vaccine gives hope of ending coronavirus pandemics. So far, more than 1.3 million deaths have occurred across the globe, and the number of daily cases is on the rise during the second wave as well.

More than 11 million people in America have developed coronavirus infections. Moreover, Coronavirus cases are rising daily in Europe, due to which the government has imposed a smart lockdown. However, Moderna will manufacture 20 million vaccine-doses for the U.S. and 500 million to 1 billion doses for the globe. Thus, enabling the world to control pandemics.
